Equipment list for shippers

Everything you need to get up and running as a Warehut shipper

🛠️
To get ready to start shipping, you’ll need the following items ready to go. Some of these are optional, but they will make your life a bit easier and you’ll be able to ship faster, which means you’ll earn more.

Equipment provided by Warehut

  • Packaging materials. Warehut will provide you with compostable mailers (for packing soft, non-fragile items like clothing) and cardboard boxes (for packing everything else). Paper fill will also be provided for padding inside your cardboard boxes.
  • “Shipped with Warehut” stickers. You’ll be asked to attach one of these to each shipment you send.
  • Thermal labels (for select 4x6” thermal label printers only). If you’re using a brand of thermal label printer that doesn’t work with our labels, you’ll have to supply your own labels. If you’re using an 8.5x11” printer, you’ll need to supply your own paper.
  • Paper-based packaging tape for sealing cardboard boxes. If you’re using an 8.5x11” printer, you’ll need to supply your own transparent packaging tape to attach each label to your items.

Equipment that you’ll need to provide

  • A printer. You will need to print off a shipping label for each shipment and attach it to the item. Our app is iOS only, so you can set up your printer to work with an iPad, or you can receive a URL Link to the shipping label, which you can open with your browser on any computer and print the label from there. We recommend using a 4x6” thermal adhesive label printer for printing off labels. This will save you a lot of time versus printing off labels on a regular 8.5x11” printer, and your shipper fee is fixed, so the faster you pick & pack, the more you can earn with Warehut. Some examples of thermal label printers are the Dymo LabelWriter 4XL, Zebra D series and the Sato. Alternatively you can use a regular 8.5x11” printer, however you will then need to use packaging tape to affix each label to the item being posted, which takes longer.
  • A measuring scale. You’ll be asked to weigh each item before posting it. Use this link to sign up for a Stamps.com account and receive a free 5lb scale.
  • A ruler or measuring tape. You’ll also need to measure each item (length, width and height) before posting it.
  • Pens and markers.
  • Scissors.
  • Shelving or bins in your packing area. These will make it easier to organize your space and find the correct items to pack faster.
  • A hand truck for moving boxes around. You should never attempt to lift any box that is too heavy and you should always bend at the knees when lifting. A hand truck makes moving boxes around your Warehut a lot easier.
