How to send inventory to your Warehut

Follow these steps to send inventory to your Warehut

ℹ️
Follow this guide to correctly prepare, label and notify anything that you send to your Warehut. Deliveries that do not comply with these instructions will be received at your ad hoc hourly rate (generally more expensive), may take longer to receive (slows down your sales) and risk being rejected by your shipper if they are unidentifiable, unsafe, or too heavy to handle, so please follow this guide carefully.

🛖 Introduction

Preparing your inventory for delivery to your Warehut is important. Following these instructions will save you time and money.

  • ⏱️ Your Warehut cannot start shipping your orders until all your stock is correctly identified and received.
  • 💵 If these instructions are not followed, inventory will be received at your ad hoc hourly rate.

✉️ Let us know about your shipment

  • When packages are delivered to a Warehut that they aren’t expecting, this can cause confusion, delays and inconvenience for the Warehut.
  • To notify your Warehut of an inbound delivery, complete an inbound product notification via the app at least five (5) business days before the estimated delivery date.
  • When asked to enter the master tracking number associated with every carton/pallet in the shipment, if some cartons or pallets are not associated with this tracking number, treat those items as separate inbound shipments and complete separate inbound product notifications for those items.
  • When completing carton/pallet quantities, if you are sending mixed-SKU pallets containing SKU pure cartons, enter the total number of SKU-pure cartons. If you are sending mixed SKU pallets containing mixed-SKU cartons, enter the total number of mixed-SKU cartons. Enter number of mixed-SKU pallets only if the items on the pallet are not in cartons.

🏷️ Labelling and identification

  • For palletized inbound deliveries:
    • Affix a printed packing list for the pallet to the pallet.
    • Each pallet should be labelled on two sides with at least the following information: Your Business Name, Delivery Address, list of SKUs on pallet, "SKU-PURE" or "MIXED-SKU" (as applicable), pallet number / total number of pallets.
  • For inbound deliveries in carton(s):
    • Include a printed packing list for each carton inside or affixed to the outside of the carton.
    • Each carton should be labelled with: Courier label, "SKU-PURE" or "MIXED-SKU" (as applicable), carton number / total number of cartons.
  • Deliveries that are unidentifiable, mis-labelled, lacking a packing list or containing an incorrect packing list will be identified and received at your ad hoc hourly rate.

⚖️ Weight and safety

  • Cartons must be capable of being safely lifted by a single person. We recommend that cartons not exceed 25 lbs.
  • Some Warehuts are not equipped to receive pallets. If you have any doubts, or haven’t shipped a pallet to your Warehut before, double check with our team first.

🧾 Taxes, duties and fees

  • You’re responsible for paying all import duties, taxes, freight fees, and other miscellaneous fees on stock deliveries.
  • Your Shipper will not pay any courier fees. If they receive a delivery and is asked by the courier to pay a fee of any kind, they will reject the delivery and you may be charged an ad hoc fee.
  • If you are shipping inventory from outside the USA, shipments must be Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) and not Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). Shipments should never be marked as “bill receiver” for duties and taxes.
  • You should always be listed as the Importer of Record, and your Warehut's address should only be listed as the delivery location.

💥 Lost or damaged goods

  • It’s never good news when your goods are lost or damaged in transit, so we take these situations seriously to ensure that the loss or damage can be accurately documented in a timely way. This minimizes disputes, protects your Warehut and provides you with evidence of the loss or damage that may assist you with insurance claim(s).
  • Goods that have been damaged in transit or missing items will be counted, inspected and received at your ad hoc hourly rate. If you need more images of the loss/damage, this can be arranged on request.
